A Mid-Summer’s night Classic [by Ivan]

bunty all star

July is approaching, and with it comes the MLB All-Star Game. The halfway point of the Major League Baseball season is celebrated each year with a few days off in the regular season schedule. It’s a time to take a break, and to feature the homerun derby and the All-Star Game.

This year the Mid-Summer Classic will be held in St. Louis. We’ve seen some interesting events occur this season, like some young up-and-coming stars, and the rise of some veteran ones, too.

For those of you following the All-Star Game, you may have participated in the online voting. If you haven’t voted yet and would like to, you can do so online at www.mlb.com. You can vote up to 25 times and the voting will end on July 2nd. If you would like to check out the stats and standings you can do so at the MLB site, as well.

Also, I would like to congratulate to Houston Astros catcher, Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez, for tying the record for most games caught behind the plate at 2,226. He tied Carlton Fisk, a former Red Sox and White Sox catcher. On Wednesday Rodriguez ended up breaking the record, catching his 2,227th game in a loss to the Rangers.

Congratulations Ivan!
